Long Beach Docks Where Bizarre Society, WeSC, And Diesel Get Down

Edgy street fashion photographer, John Ussenko wearing Bizarre Society Clothing and WESC snapback, on location in Long Beach during a photo shoot.

Today, is different. Most mornings, I wake up to the idea of where to shoot and as of now, nothing comes to mind. Maybe coffee will help. I jump on the 405 and stop at some random place on the east side of Long Beach for a cup of organic coffee, which by the way, was made incorrectly. Not that I’m a pour-over-coffee-snob, I just want my coffee to be made correctly.

Shadow Art w/ Simon Spurr Sportcoat, Official Crown of Laurel, and Body Rags

Simon Spurr and Body Rags fashion shoot with street fashion photographer, John Ussenko in Huntington Beach.

I’m in a great mood and sharing some of my art, personal fashion styles, and brands with all of you. Plain and simple. And I love what I did with this fashion shoot. Best one yet!  I discovered this narrow alley in Huntington Beach off the PCH.  It was mid-day and time to try out a few concepts with shadows.  This is one of my very first Simon Spurr sportcoats that I purchased way back in the day. It has that punk rock kind of look and of course my friends can always find me when it’s dark outside.  The Body Rags tshirt happens to be one of my favorite designs and you’ll see me in it a lot. I’ll have to remember not to do so many fashion shoots with it on though.

Ames Bros Meet John Varvatos In The Alamitos Bay Harbor

John Varvatos and Psyho Bunny clothing fashion shoot at the Long Beach harbor with lifestyle and fashion photographer, John Ussenko.

A fashion shoot in a harbor? Say what?! With so many harbors within a 30 minute drive between Long Beach and Dana Point, this happens to be the first time I’m actually shooting in one. I’m guilty. I should’ve would’ve could’ve done it sooner, I know. Glad that it’s happening now. By random selection, I ended up in this harbor, somewhere between Seal Beach and the south end of Long Beach, I think it’s called Alamitos Bay. I will do a better job of writing down the location because I have no idea where I am.  The sun feels nice though. It’s quiet and no one is around to kick me off the dock. It’s going to be a good day.

General Patton Meets Psycho Bunny, Body Rags, & French Connection

Military Tanks, Psycho Bunny Snapback, and French Connection Clothing by fashion and lifestyle photographer John Ussenko on location in the California desert.

I love exploring new locations especially when they randomly appear and make you say, “wtf?” When I pulled off the highway to get gas at a tiny place called Chiriaco Summit, this  came out of left field. It appears to be over a dozen tanks scattered in the area.  I thought my eyes were seeing things. Com’on. Tanks? Tanks?! Tanks! Seriously. What are these tanks doing out here in the first place. How the heck did they even get them there?   All of a sudden, Curious George popped in my head and said, “Stop the car dork and go explore.”  So I did.

Simon Spurr Sportcoat Meets Crown of Laurel Snapback In Laguna Beach

Fashion shoot with Simon Spurr blue plaid sport coat and Crown of Laurel snapback with street fashion photographer, John Ussenko on location in Laguna Beach.

I’ve been into sport coats for quite some time now. I believe they go well with most outfits. You can dress them up with a scarf and nice shoes or dress down with a Crown of Laurel snapback and your fav street kicks. I own nine sport coats and four of them are designed by Simon Spurr. He’s a great designer and most of his coats catch my eye.   This particular wifi photo shoot was a tough one to set up.
